Galvosil coatings can be used as the main primer in an anti-corrosive coating system, and can be combined with a wide range of intermediates and topcoats, including intumescent passive fire protection coatings.

Description:The Galvosil product range includes Galvosil 15700, a two-component, solvent-borne, inorganic zinc silicate coating with outstanding resistance to weathering and abrasion, and excellent chemical resistance within the pH range 6-9. Galvosil 15700 complies with SSPC-Paint 20, type 1, level 1 and ISO 12944-5.
Recommended useHempel's Galvosil 15700 is recommended as a general purpose, heavy-duty, rust-preventing primer for newbuild and maintenance. Suitable for structural steel and piping. Recommended for a wide range of atmospheric corrosivity environments up to extreme (offshore). Can be used as a single, complete coating for long-term protection of steel exposed to moderately to severely corrosive environment and abrasion. Also suitable for tank linings in accordance with Hempel's Chemical Protection guide.

- Without topcoat: maximum, dry, atmospheric exposure: 450°C [842°F].
- With a suitable topcoat: maximum, dry, atmospheric exposure: 500°C [932°F], peak: 600°C [1112°F]
